How We Met …
Boy Meets Girl
It was the summer of 2014, I had just arrived home from work in Germany so I could serve in my church’s VBS, when I met Jordan. Even with her little knowledge of the Romanian language, the more I watched her interact with the children and teens, the more I saw how she showed God’s love to everyone she met. I wasn’t sure if she would ever come back to our church in Romania, and even though she made it very clear that she was not interested in me, I still prayed that God would bring her back soon. Over time, our friendship grew and she came back to Romania as a full time missionary in 2016. I knew God wanted her to be my wife, but I waited patiently for God to confirm in her what He had already confirmed in me. God finally answered my prayers and we were married in May of 2017. Since then we have been working together for the Lord in Romania.
Girl Meets Boy
I met Ruben during my second trip to Romania in the summer of 2014. I was traveling with a missionary team, helping in Vacation Bible Schools. I knew right away that Ruben liked me, so I decided to avoid him as much as possible. However, I also noticed how friendly he was to others and how faithful he was in the Lord’s work. By the end of the summer, I was back in the states trying to finish deputation. We kept in touch, but only as friends and that was how I had planned to keep it because I didn’t want to get distracted from what God had called me to do in Romania. I finished deputation in 2016, returned to Romania and dove right into language study. My friendship with Ruben grew and it was later on in the following summer when I felt the Lord leading me to start praying about him as a husband. We were married the following year in May 2017, and are now working together in Romania as a family.
