Our Beliefs

God

We believe in one eternal and self-existent God who is manifested in three equal persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; II Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19-20).

Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit to be a part of the triune God, who has always been involved in the affairs of mankind. Since Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has been sent to convict, regenerate, sanctify, seal, and indwell in all who have trusted in Jesus Christ (John 14:17; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13; I Corinthians 3:16). We reject the Charismatic movement and their belief that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit upon Salvation is equivalent with an experience of uncontrollable actions and speech. We believe that upon Salvation, the Christian receives ALL of the Holy Spirit. However, we believe that the “filling” of the Holy Spirit means to live/walk in the Spirit as apposed to live/walk in the flesh. The evidence of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling is shown through the fruits of the Spirit (Romans 8:9-10; Galatians 5:24-25; Matthew 7:16).

Sin and Salvation

We believe man was made perfect (Genesis 1:26), but after Adam’s sin, all of mankind are born sinners and all are in need of Christ’s redemption (Romans 5:8, 12). We believe salvation is only by grace through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that WHOSOEVER receives Him is then regenerated by the Holy Spirit (Romans 10:9-10) and upon salvation they are forever secure in Christ (John 10:27-29; Titus 3: 5-7).

The Last Days

We believe the imminent return of Jesus Christ, in the Rapture, will be pre-tribulational and that His Second Coming will be pre-millennial. We believe in a literal heaven and hell. All those who are saved are immediately taken to heaven upon death (Luke 23:43; II Corinthians 5:8) and those who are unsaved are immediately sent to Hell (Luke 16:22-23), to then be cast into the lake of fire after the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:14).

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ …..

      • is God (John 1:1,14; Hebrews 1:8)

      • was born of a virgin (Luke 1:34-35; Isaiah 7:14)

      • lived a sinless life and died on the cross as the atonement for our sin (Hebrews 9:14; Romans 3:25)

      • bodily arose from the grave three days after his death (Acts 10:40)

      • is presently at the right hand of God (Hebrews 8:1-2; Matthew 26:64)

      • will personally return to earth (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:16)

The Bible

We believe that the Bible, in its entirety, has been verbally inspired by God, unerring in its original writings and preserved throughout the ages (Psalm 12:7). Therefore, the Bible, is our sole authority in faith and life (II Timothy 3:16-17).  We hold the KJV as a true translation of the Scriptures and believe that it is the best version for the English-speaking people.

The Church

We believe the Church is a group of saved, baptized believers working together for the cause of Christ in worship, edification, discipleship, and the Great Commission (Acts 2:41-42, 47; Mark 16:15). Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and is supreme in its authority (Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18). We believe the Bible teaches that the Church is to be organized locally and managed independently, governed by two main offices- pastor (interchangeable with elder or bishop) and deacons (Titus 1:5; Acts 14:23; I Timothy 3:2, 5:17; Ephesians 4:11).
